Pasta Fagioli

Pasta Fagioli with Three Cheese Pasta Sauce

Ingredients

  • 5 - tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 - medium onion, chopped
  • 2 - celery stems, chopped fine
  • 1 - (26 oz.) jar DelGrosso Three Cheese Spaghetti Sauce
  • 6 - cups water 1-1/2 - teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 - teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 - teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 - (40-1/2 oz.) can great northern beans
  • 3 - cups uncooked elbow macaroni, cooked to package directions
  • 1 - large (13-1/4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1/4 - cup grated Parmesan or Romano cheese

Preparation Time: 45 minutes

Directions

  1. In 3 quart saucepan sauté olive oil, onion and celery over low heat until translucent (approximately 25 minutes).
  2. Add DelGrosso Three Cheese Spaghetti Sauce, water, pepper, garlic and basil.
  3. Cook until heated thoroughly.
  4. Combine cooked macaroni and sauce mixture in a stockpot.
  5. Cook over medium heat until hot.
  6. Add mushrooms and beans and bring to a boil.
  7. Serve in large soup bowls and top with grated cheese.
